Ceilings- textured or not?
Is this even serious? I find it hard to believe they would still even do any kind of ceiling texture! Hello, this isn't the 80's anymore. If you want me to have a slap coat ceiling please give me a shag carpet option as well to really complete the room! That will be the first question I ask when we go in for our meeting!
Do any of you have textured ceilings? Did you have to pay more to get smooth ceilings?
I was just as surprised as you about the possibility of textured ceilings! What year is this?! So many blogs said that we should ask about it so we did and they told us smooth. Our SR kind of seemed surprised by the question. I think it may be a regional thing, so definitely confirm!
ReplyDeleteSee! I have seen it in so many blogs and my husband was making fun of me for asking. Lol! I don't think ours are but I'm going to ask for sure!
DeleteHow was your pre construction meeting?
Haha my boyfriend acted like I was crazy too! Then I showed him the blogs that mentioned it! I don't understand why anyone would ever want textured ceilings... so weird.
DeleteWe have our pre-construction meeting on Monday! Pretty pumped to get started! I'll definitely update my blog with how it goes!
Yes, I am with you ladies...surprised! Perhaps there are owners who desire this look...I just don't know any! We were not asked and honestly, I had never thought about it so maybe it is regional as LaurLew mentioned. To answer your question, we are smooth sailing and it did not cost more.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it crazy, Eboni? Who even wants textured ceilings anymore? I know around here people pay big money to get rid of them!
DeleteI think that our ceilings ARE textured in our house. I believe our SR called it a knock down stipple ceiling. I don't know if we even have an option for smooth ceilings...
ReplyDeleteReally? What region are you in if i may ask?
DeleteThat just seems so odd when so many people pay to get them removed!
I don't have any at my house that I've noticed so far. Man... my parents' house has textured ceilings. Bleh! If I get textured ceilings I'll be so mad, because that's definitely 80's.
ReplyDeleteKimmie- I'm telling you! I don't know why they even would make it an option!
DeleteI'm also crossing my fingers we do not get the "stipple" effect either. My parents did it in their basement about two years ago and love it. I think it makes the home look so aged... yikes!
